7 Days of Teacher Treats for End of Year Gifts - #4 Part 2.... Bookmark Gold Star Thank You Card

As promised in my last post, here is the recipe for another Teacher Thank You Card this time with a twist :)  How about reminding your teacher how much they mean to you by giving them something with a personal message on that they can use every day..... cue my next card!

Crafty Spark Recipe Time (again!).....

1 piece of Cucumber Crush cardstock measuring 8 1/2" x 8 1/4"
1 piece of Cumcumber Crush cardstock measuring 5 3/4" x 8"
Yellow backing paper measuring 5 1/2" x 8" (I used some retired Designer Series Paper from the Best Year Ever pack which will be included if you buy the full Teacher Treats - Ready Made Kit)
Schoolhouse Designer Series Paper measuring 3 1/2" x 5 1/4"
Small pieces of Pool Party and Daffodil Delight cardstock
Sprinkles of Life Stamp Set
Fabulous Four Stamp Set
1 strip of Daffodil Delight cardstock measuring 2" x 7"
2 1/2" punched circle in Whisper White
Two  2 3/8" punched scallop circles in Tangerine Tango
2" punched circle in Schoolhouse Designer Series Paper
1 medium punch gold star (obviously!)
Sellotape or any clear glossy tape

Ready?....

Start by scoring your larger piece of Cucumber Crush cardstock at 2 3/4" with the 8 1/2" edge at the top of your score board (or do what I did and do it round the wrong way twice before you realise it's round the wrong way!).  Then, with the longest edge at the top of your score board, score your smaller piece of cardstock at 4".

You've now got two card bases which will be going to go together like this (put the glue down, we're not sticking them yet!)...

Before we stick them together (see, told you) we're going to decorate the cards...

I've used the 'thanks' stamp from the Fabulous Four set
and the ice cream from the Sprinkles of Life set for this bit
With your smaller card base back to front, stick your
Schoolhouse Designer Series Paper on

Can you see how the card is opening backwards... that's exactly what we want it to do :)

Now we're going to move onto the larger part of the card....

Open the side flap on the larger card base, stick the backing paper down and then stick your smaller card down.
Position the smaller card slightly nearer the top than in the middle as it will balance the card better.

Gather all your bits as shown and using the Triple Banner Punch, assemble your bookmark

Ask your small person to write a message on the back of the book mark and then cover part of the back with some clear tape

Take a bit of the sticky off of two dimensionals by sticking them to your fingers a couple of times and then stick them to the back of the book mark.  This will make it easier for the teacher to take the bookmark off of the card without ruining the card and the glossy sellotape will protect your child's lovely message to their teacher.
