Flurry of Wishes Card-In-A-Box

flurry-of-wishes (3)

It seems ages since I made a card-in-a-box.... I really love making this type card - it creates such an impact when you open it up :)  As soon as I saw the beautiful Flurry of Wishes Stamp Set I knew I just had to use it to make my first Christmas card-in-a-box (and yes, I did say first..... there will be more!)

To begin with I used the largest stamp from the set to stamp and emboss three large snowflakes on to Pool Party Cardstock, cut them out and then sponged the edges with Night of Navy and Bermuda Bay ink to give them some depth and match the paper I'd chosen from the Season of Cheer Designer Series Paper set.

The medium sized stamp from this set is the perfect match for the flower medallion punch so I stamped this one on to Whisper White cardstock and embossed it in silver.  Punched out with the flower medallion punch and topped with one of the Snowflake Elements smothered in Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter gives you a beautiful snowflake :)  As the Snowflake Elements are wood, I painted them first with white acrylic paint then used the 2 Way Glue Pen to stick the glitter to them - perfect :)

Pretty in Pink Cantilever Picnic Box Tutorial

I really wanted to do something girly when I designed this picnic box and, sounding modest I know, I think I've really achieved my goal with this one.  There's something romantic about picnic's isn't there (well the kind I was thinking of anyway, not the muddy Glastonbury type ones!) and I really hope you agree with me when I say I LOVE how this Cantilever Picnic Box has come out :)  Watch the video tutorial below to see how it's made (sorry about the giggling fit in the second one!)

No Bones About It Window Sheet Card

I really should have posted this card a while ago as I made it early July!  My son wanted a card to give to his best friend when they left primary school as they were going to different secondary schools and this is what I came up with :)
The card was made using the brilliant No Bones About It Stamp Set which is definitely a favourite in my house right now and I've also used the Layered Letters Alphabet Stamp Set which is another favourite - well worth the investment that's for sure!  If you fancy trying this fab set out, I am currently running Takeaway Classes using the No Bones About It Stamp Set - click HERE to be taken to the Classes page for more information.

SpongeBob & Patrick aka Garden in Bloom with Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight

stampin-up-garden-in-bloom-card (4)Spongebob and PatrickInspiration, inspiration, inspiration..... I sound like that annoying program title don't I!  It is for a good reason though...... it all started when I tripped up the stairs and came face to face with Patrick (the toy one not the real one)!  As you know he's pink and his BFF SpongeBob is yellow...... pink and yellow - what a brilliant combination :-)  Add to that one of my favourite sets, Garden in Bloom Stamp Set and that was me happy for the day ahead (I'm not that hard to please despite what my hubby says!).

Red.... is it Christmas???

butterflies-thinlits-garden-in-bloom-stampin-up (4)

Hmm, red - usually a colour I tend to associate with Christmas and Valentines Day, that's such a stereotypical thing to say isn't it!  So today, jumping off my pink fluffy cloud of safeness I decided to do a birthday card using red..... which after all I told myself, is just a darker shade of pink anyway (well actually I didn't tell myself that, more like screamed it at the top of my lungs!).
