Beautiful Tall Gift Box for a Glass or Ceramic Gift

Howdidoodi everyone :D  Today's project is by special request from one of my lovely customers who needed a nice tall strong box to hold a glass made especially for Bridesmaids at a Wedding.  I made a smaller version of this beautiful box a few days ago which you can see HERE... this one is the same principle but taller and has been strengthened to make it sturdy enough for heavier items.  Here's how to make it....

Super Simple Speedy Cards #7 - Masculine Cards with Going Places Suite Stampin' Up!

Yesterday was my 23rd Wedding Anniversary and for I think, the first time in many years, I actually made my Husband's card using the Going Global Stamp Set and Going Places Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!  Now I know that may sound a bit bizarre... you know, a crafter not making her own cards, but I have a real problem making cards for men!  Thankfully I know I'm not alone in

Crafty Cupcakes Blog Hop - Birthday Bouquet in the Spring

Thank you for joining us on our Crafty Cupcakes Blog Hop! We're showcasing lots of gorgeous projects using products from the Stampin' Up!® Spring/Summer and Annual Catalogues with the emphasis on SPRING. Simply use the buttons at the end of each post to keep hopping!

You may have joined me from Maggie's blog, Bows-n-Butterflies... didn't she make a gorgeous project!  So very clever and so cute!  If you haven't seen it, make sure you have a look before you leave the Crafty Cupcakes Blog Hop today :)

One of my favourite papers in the new Spring/Summer catalogue is the beautiful Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper.  I just love the style and the accessories that you can get to match - it's just so pretty!  And what can be better than a beautiful paper to use and an amazingly detailed stamp to match it!

The fancy fold card is known as a flip fold or pop out card and I've used the Birthday Blooms Stamp Set by Stampin' Up! that matches the Birthday Bouquet paper to stamp the image of the briar rose four times onto watercolour paper using Basic Gray Archival Ink.  The image was then coloured in using an Aqua Painter with Watermelon Wonder, Blushing Bride, Mossy Meadow and Old Olive inks.  Once dried, each one was cut out and layered to create a decoupage flower and adhered to a square of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.  Looks rather good I think don't you?

The card itself is made from Kraft Cardstock with the same image stamped in Versamark and then heat embossed with White Embossing Powder and coloured softly and causally using daubers and Blushing Bride and Wild Wasabi inks.

A tall box in the coordinating Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper tied with a length of Watermelon Wonder Stitched Satin Ribbon completes the set.  See how the ribbon is gathered as it reaches the lid of the box.... that was done using the ribbon slit on the Curvy Corner Trio Punch - clever isn't it.  Not so clever however was the amount of time it took me to tie that bow!

Coming up next is a fabulous project from Cathy at Craft With Cathy so make sure you click on 'Next Blog' to keep on hopping :D
