Stampin' Up! All Things Thanks - International Blog Hop

Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Lea Denton - All Things Thanks

Do you remember I recently took part in an International Blog Highlight hosted by Kylie Bertucci?  Well thanks to all of you that voted I now have the honour of taking part in an INTERNATIONAL BLOG HOP with the top 10 Winners!  My card is dedicated to all those that took part because you all are truly amazing and especially to Kylie Bertucci for arranging the International Blog Highlight in the first place :)

Our theme for this blog hop is using the stamp set All Things Thanks! This is a wonderful stamp set with so many gorgeous sentiments. We wanted to highlight how versatile it really is. You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog - Lea Denton, The Crafty Spark in the UK or may have come from the person previous to me in the list. If you get off track at any time, the full line up below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.

When I designed this card I was doing a bit of an experiment at the same time. The Irresistibly Floral Designer Series Specialty Paper is designed to either be left as it with the glossy white pattern on the white background or coloured but I decided to try and take it further and really mix it up! The image above on the left is the Irresistibly Floral Designer Series Specialty Paper coloured with Pacific Point ink and left to dry - notice how clean the lines of the images are?  The image above on the right however has had the 'special treatment'... coloured with different colour inks to create a rainbow effect and then spritzed a few times with water - about 3 times and left to dry between each spritzing.  As you can see, the ink has soaked into the paper through the layers rather than just sitting on the top and the final effect has left the glossy white looking quite 'messy' where the ink has seeped under the lines.

  1. Love your card Lea. The rainbow effect is gorgeous and what a great idea to utilise the Irrestistibly Floral paper in a different way. I love the more subtle, distressed type effect you have achieved ... goes wonderfully with the rainbow colours. xx Cheryll
