Watercolor Wings & Exploding Box Cards!

exploding-box-cardFollowing on from my Mug Exploding Box Card that I did a couple of days ago, today I'm going to show you how to stamp the to make your butterflies.  Lucky me has the so I can die cut my butterflies.  If you don't have a die cutting machine don't worry, you can hand cut them....... if you WANT a die cutting machine I am actually selling one of my used in my shop :)  Nothing wrong with it - my fabulous husband has bought me the Big Shot Plus so I don't use my small one anymore.

For today's project you will need....
Stamp Set or the

Early Espresso Ink Pad

How you stamp your really is a personal choice I think but for me, stamping the outer part of the wing first using the mid shade colour (which in this case is ) always helps me to line up the main part of the body which I've done in the lighter shade ().  Finally, I stamp the inner markings using my darkest shade - .

If you smudge a bit of your when you stamp like I have don't worry, when it's cut out and finished you'll hardly notice.  Another little tip to using the Stamp Set is to stamp the body of your butterfly after you've cut it out - makes it that bit easier to line it up - I've done mine using Early Espresso Ink Pad.

To give your butterfly a 3D effect, use a solid base (I chose for mine) then stick your stamped butterfly in the middle of your solid base just putting glue along the body.  Then using the framelits from the , cut out the small butterfly using and secure that just along the body too.

Touch up the body of your butterfly with a fine paint brush dabbed on the Early Espresso Ink Pad and you're finished...... unless like me you decide to add a bit of bling :)

Until next time........
