Stampin' Up! Thankful Crafty Cupcakes Team Blog Hop

Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Lea Denton - Stampin' Up! Thankful Crafty Cupcakes Team Blog Hop

Welcome to the Crafty Cupcakes Team Stampin' Up! Blog Hop for November 2017. Each month members of the Team take part in our Team Blog Hop to share with you our cards and projects made using the fabulous Stampin' Up! products. You are currently visiting Lea Denton at The Crafty Spark Blog and below you will see the full list of everyone taking part. To move to the next blog just click the name after mine in the list. This month our theme is 'Thankful' which seemed very apt as not only are we coming up to Christmas but I have a huge amount to thank all my customers and Team for... more about that another day though. For now, I'd just like to say thank you for visiting my blog today :)

So what am I thankful for? Well this week it is most definitely my Crafty Cupcakes Team and Stampin' Up! for bringing us all together :)

You may of seen from other Stampin' Up! blogs that this past weekend was our bi-annual OnStage event where around 400 Demonstrators from various corners of the UK all come together to celebrate our love of crafting. The event is held simultaneously all over the world with anything from 200 to 2000 attending the events. It's a fantastic experience and one I will tell you about very soon but for today I want to focus on the day after this event when my Team and I had a Cupcake Crafty Day together. I'd planned a whole host of crafting and games but the ladies in my team had other plans and presented me with a HUGE bag full of presents! OMG I was speechless and if you've ever watched any of my videos you will know that this never happens!

In between all the tears and nose blowing I eventually managed to open all my presents and cards. I didn't even notice the bag they were all in! That's Steph giving it to me when it was empty - a fabulous Harry Potter bag to go with all my other gifts including of course more Harry Potter yummies :)

During the day I did a demonstration on using Embossing Paste and taught everyone various methods and ways of using it which was great fun. Most of us were very tidy but there's always the odd one who seems to get it everywhere (yes Michelle I do mean you hehe). One of the methods I taught everyone was the Ink Drip Method which is exactly as it sounds! Plop a big dollop of paste on your card, spread it out and mark lines or swirls in it with your Pallet Knife. When it's dry, use re-inking bottles of ink and drip one drop at the very top of the line and let it run down. It will seep into the dry Embossing Paste and create a beautiful look. Mist it slightly with water to spread it more if the colour is too deep.

When everything was dry I mounted the scored Embossing Paste panel onto a card front, added a punched daisy and voila all done :) This card is going to be sent to Steph as a thank you to her for her part in my present and I have many others ready to go to the rest of my Team to thank them too.
