Stampin' Blends Faux Stained Glass Card with Remarkable You Stamp Set

I'm really getting into Stampin' Blends Markers now! My colouring used to be terrible but for some reason, with the Stampin' Blends Markers I'm finding it much easier. I've always been a bit scared of alcohol markers but not any more :) You can get the Stampin' Blends Markers as a complete set, combo's of light and dark shades, individually or by joining my Stampin' Blends Markers Club. Click here for more information about the Stampin' Blends Markers Club and details on how to get your free products.

For these cards I used Basic Black Archival Ink Pad to do the stamping, something NOT recommended for use with Blends Markers however, it's the only ink that will stay on acetate Window Sheets. What to do? Simple, colour on the reverse of the image! As it's Window Sheet it's obviously transparent so the colour shows through on both sides.

Stamp the image sentiment on one side, wait for it to dry then turn it over and colour on the reverse. There's a bit of a technique involved in colouring on acetate with the Stampin' Blends which I picked up from the fabulous Jennifer Mcguire. To begin with, use the lightest colour to colour your complete image. Then, using your darker colour, make a series of tiny dots on the acetate rather than colouring as you would on cardstock. Doing it this way means you won't be lifting the lighter coloured ink off of the acetate as you add the shadowing.

My first card was the Rich Razzleberry purple one which I made for a friend of mine who's going through a tough time right now. I liked it so much though that I made a second one using Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends. The card base for the Cherry Cobbler flower is actually Real Red as the white cardstock behind the image lightened the ink and the red went better.
