Pretty Card with Stampin' Up! Part of My Story and Garden Impressions Paper

Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Lea Denton, The Crafty Spark...

I seemed to have accumulated rather a large pile of Garden Impressions Paper from Stampin' Up! lately so I thought it's high time I actually use it! That's the trouble with pretty paper though isn't it, you just want to look at it... far better to share it though isn't it.

I saw a series of cards by Tracy Bradley in Pinterest made using these papers and they looked so pretty. My card today is based on her design with some added Vellum Cardstock leaves punched out with the Leaf Punch, a bit of ribbon from my stash and the gorgeous Part of My Story Stamp Set from the current Sale-A-Bration offering from Stampin' Up!

Crafty Recipe

Melon Mambo card base: 5⅞" x 5⅞" | 15cm x 15cm
Whisper White card insert (inside card to write on): 5½" x 5½" | 14cm x 14cm
Crushed Curry (yellow) layer: 4¼" x 5⅞" | 10.8cm x 15cm
Garden Impressions (patterned) layer: 4⅛" x 5⅞" | 10.5cm x 15cm

  1. Cut your card base in Melon Mambo (my card base is slightly smaller than the usual 6" x 6" so I could make it from standard A4 sized cardstock) and adhere the first Crushed Curry layer
  2. Adhere the Garden Impressions Paper directly onto the Crushed Curry
  3. Punch around 18 leaves from the Vellum Cardstock with the Leaf Punch and gently squeeze each leave to form a light fold down the middle of each one. Doing this will give the leaves some depth and add texture to card
  4. Cut a scalloped circle in Crushed Curry and adhere a plain circle to it with the sentiment stamped towards the top of the circle
  5. Place a number of dimensionals on the back of the scalloped circle, stick the stems of the leaves onto the dimensionals and then adhere to the card
  6. Add a ribbon bow to finish

I do hope you enjoyed reading my post today and if you do want to order any Stampin' Up! goodies for yourself, make sure you use the current Host Code (you can learn more about Host Codes here).

Until next time......
  Happy crafting with love from

Hi Lea, Love your website and although I am in BC, Canada, love listening to your tutorials and it sounds like you are just round the corner. I am a Sussex girl originally so nice to hear a familiar voice. I love your designs and have tried many of your ideas and find the tutorials easy to understand, thank you. Also I have to agree that I like the old inkpads much better for holding and am sad that now just when I have decided to collect them all, I have now ended up with some new and some old and the old inkpad holders - grrrr!! I have to snap up the old reinkers too, if I can find them. Oh well never mind! Happy stamping to you.
